how do you clear the codes for the brake pads on a 2004 bmw 745li???

As memory serves (only done maybe 3 brake jobs on 745's) you have to replace the pad sensors when doing the brake hob. You can cut the wires and crimp them together.

u have to replace the sensor or the cluster will not reset the CBS data (counter) once u replace the sensor, with the key fob in, hit the start button till all the lights r on the dash, wait for the cc messages to stop. puch & hold the left reset button until the cbs menu comes up in the left side of the cluster. use the left rest button to choose which item to reset. once u highlite the desired item, push & hold the left (same) reset button on cluster & a new menu will come up on the right, select reset, then push & hold again. it should reset & move down the list on the left. select back to move back to the previous menu. voila.
