Hi there,

l just got a 2001 BMW 330ci with 96,000 and l am not sure what has been done for maintenance but got it from a Mercedes Benz dealer and it was one of the manager is cars. The oil looks clean but what should l replace? Oil, oil filter, o2 sensors (if so how many are there and where do l get these), air filter, bushings, spark plugs, these kinds of things. Thanks for your advice!!

There r numerous things that u should change & others that should be checked (budget permitting).

The list of things to change (starting with the priorities) is as follows & assumes u do not know when they were last changed:

Oil & oil filter
Anti-freeze (drain the radiator completely & make sure u use the correct anti-freeze with the right proportion of water)
Spark plugs
Air filter
Gear box oil
Brake fluid
Battery
Engine Compression
Catalytic converter

Check:
Computer for any errors (only possible by a BMW dealer or a specialist with the correct equipment)
Differential oil
Tyres (pressure & tread)
Wheel tracking & alignment
Brake pads & disks
Suspension (springs & dampers)
Windscreen wash additive & windscreen wipers
Bulbs/Lights (including alignment)
Front & rear Bushes
Ignition leads
Coil packs
Air conditioning gas/compressor

Any problems with an 02 sensor (or coil packs) should be picked up by a check of the computer although they deteriorate with age they're designed to last over 100,000 miles of ''normal'' driving. Replacements r available from BMW or an auto-parts specialist.

If u do find any problems, go back to the Mercedes garage & ask them to fix the problem or pay for BMW/a specialist to correct the issue(s).
