Yeah there have been 1,2 even 8 series floating around for some time. Typically only in Europe but we are getting a converted version of the 1 series in the US this year.

Series one out now ANd the old 2002 bmw of 1968 to 1975 would be 2 series

There were both models around the 60 is and 70's, however the 1 Series is now sold in Europe, in the form of models like the 120D.

Hey they r running out of numbers. And putting on a 1033 or 10XX & 11 & what not is a lot of numbers & would cost BMW to much money for the added number. Maybe the computers at BMW would need a complete revamp to accept the higher number. Plus its a play on peoples minds to make them think they have the BEST model.. Yeah l know they made a 2002 but maybe they didn't;t care about how much the numbers for the trunk cost. Also there has been a 8 series total flop failure with to many problems but never the less they made a 8. But in the end who really cares it just a model number..

1 series is for sale worldwide now, there was never a 2 series unless you count the 2002 from the 60's-70's
