Do you mean an E30?
There is no negative unless you're as big as l am and do not well in an E30.

As far as MPG goes, which engine/trans and where will you be driving it and how fast?
None of them are really hard on fuel.

if its off warranty it will be expensive to fix. also, consumables such as tires and brake pads are more expensive on a BMW compared to other cars

BMWs are reliable but they have a lot of gadgets which means there are more things that can break as the car gets older
