l live in indiana and really want one but im kinda worried about the car sliding easily and im not to sure if it will be ok, l wont drive it far when l drive it, but do u think l could drive it in snow?

Ok l searched online and heres what l found. the 1996 BMW Z3 is ok in the winter. But theres Winter tires that you can buy to make it even safer. The 1996 BMW Z3 is pretty safe at travailing 45 tops in the snow. With the winter tires it can do a nice smooth 80. The regular 1996 BMW Z3 tires grip is decent in the winter but l recommend getting the winter tires. Plus the winter tires look nice.

Any vehicle can be safe or dangerous in the winter. It is how you drive that determines that.

if its front wheel drive, it will be fine

l would not try to drive a Z3 in snow. lots of power at the rear wheels and not much weight. it would slide around and get stuck fairly easy.

The guy two spots above me is way wrong, no bimmers are FWD! It will be as safe as any other RWD car. It will depend mostly on your driving, and the tires on your car. l drive my 98 e36 in the winter, you just have to be a little more careful so the back end does not come out! Also, it would be a good idea to put some weights in the trunk, to put more downforce on the rear wheels=more traction.

l drive a Miata all year long and it does slide a little in the rain. If the ground is really slick, l start in 2nd gear. l would not drive it in the snow.

l used to have a '97 740i and it was a bit of a pain to get it moving on slick surfaces, but once it got going it would get around corners and stop just fine. The near 50/50 weight distribution that BMWs have helps out with traction. l think that if you get a stick shift Z3 with some good snow tires on it, it will be just as good as any front-wheel drive car in the snow.
