Anyone know? l would consider ''on the road'' to mean not in a junk yard or been destroyed. My 72 stays in the driveway 99.99% of the time, but l still consider it ''on the road'' since there is still hope for her.

So, your '72 was not in the driveway for about 53 minutes in the last year?

I'd guess that less than 20% of the Bimmer 2002s have survived in drivable condition. Had more been properly maintained instead of driven into the ground or outright discarded there'd be a correspondingly larger number on the road today than many other cars, given the same maintenance.

You may be able to find some estimate on roadfly.com or bimmerforums.com. Also, if you are a member of the BMW Car Club they may be able to put you in contact with Mike Self who is the expert on the maintenance and repair of these cars within the club.

Not enough. l have an e21, and l have only seen 2 on the road in the last 6 years. l love 2002 is and E21's, the road feel is amazing. They handle great for all the body lean too! These new Chris Bangle monstrosities are obnoxious - not to mention HEAVY!!
