l am about to take delivery on Saturday for this car and l wanted to know if this car comes with an Aux Jack for an ipod or is this an optional feature? l asked the dealer and he wasnt really sure but said if l wanted to install the ipod integration it would cost $500 so l figure l would rather get it installed by an aftermarket detail shop since the dealers always rip you off anyone know?

Yes there is an aux jack but you need the adapter. The adapter alone is about $325.

For starters tell ur sales person to look at the car, is that really that hard to do? l do not know if the 7 series has the aux input as an option or not, l do not ever remember seeing one. The ipod interface that the dealer wants to sell u is really a great accessory & that actually sounds really cheap. It, unlike the aux input will charge ur ipod. There is no way that an aftermarket detail shop will be able to do that for u as it will require programing the vehicle, unless they do something that will void the warranty. Do not be cheap u r buying a BMW & as complicated as the electronics r in that vehicle, u will always be at the mercy of the dealers.
