l have a 1998 BMW 318IS, My problem is it was freezing and l left the car out side (it is usually in the garage) The next morning IT would not start... the windshield wipers and the horn are still working, the car is makes a ''click'' sound.l had some guys push it back in the garage where l hope it will thaw, l do not know if it is the battery or the starter or if the gas is frozen???Please help me
l also went to Mr Lube on Thursday, and got the works, so l think all my fluids should be good???

If it makes some form of sound then it is most likely the battery is fine. Make sure you have anti-freeze in the car and then try to start it again.

Probably the battery. l suggest you keep it in your garage overnight in the warmth. If the car does not start again in the morning you sould check the gas.

The gas is not likely to have frozen. It is probally you radiator fluids or your antifreeze

If it is just one click, and then nothing, your battery is dead. There might be enough juice left in it to run the wipers and horn, but not enough to start it. One click means you need a new battery.

If it is multiple clicks (fast), it might be a bad starter motor.

Batteries older than 4-5 years often die when it gets really cold out.

l would imagine from the infomation supplied that ur battery is low in charge.
Batteries work harder in the winter, & usually get more discharge applied them due to the lower ambient temps & additional loads placed on them from heated windows/ heating system/ lights on more often etc.

The effect of these problems is multiplied if u make a lot of short journies too.

l would advise charging ur battery overnight once a week with a cheap trickle charger if u can during the colder spells.

With regard to the other suspected causes it is very unlikely.

Frozen coolant would not stop ur engine starting & petrol or ''gas'' freezes at approx -70 degrees celcius.

Sounds like the battery. Ive got a '95 318i SE, and when its cold, it does the same thing. Best bet is to charge the battery for a bit, or if youre desperate, jump start it!

Get a new battery, the best you can afford.

l guarantee that this will solve the problem,
