l do not think it is illegal. You have to replace the chip in the computer system to change the top speed limit the factory put on the car.

There is no law against it that l have ever heard. They only thing may be that the EPA may not allow it as it may change the emissions s that may make it illegal. It will void your warranty. Check with DINAN l think they do what you are asking.

It is not illegal to remove the governor.

But, the governor is set in the ECU so you will need an aftermarket chip to remove it.
