l would like to know whats the best performance chip that l can buy for my bmw m3 2004, with in $500 to $1000 range. l wanna increase my HP so if you suggest one, please note how many HP does it provide if you know.

For a 1000 you are not gonna get a very good one. If you own a BMW M3 you should get yourself a decent Motec system. They are fantastic. l can not tell you the range that you will get but it will be significant if you tune your car well or Motec can do it for you. But it will cost at least 3000. Or you can get a second hand Motec system which is an older version for less.

Dinan. l would never, ever, consider anything less than the best for my car, a 2000 M5. People will tell u crazy things (Motec???), because they heard through the grapevine that they work magic. The truth is, the best tuning company for BMWs r either Dinan, the Shark Injector, or Jim Conforti. Those r three brands that actually give a realistic gain in power, & have the dyno sheets, & support, to back their claims. l used the Shark Injector on my M5 ($300), & l gained 7 hp & 8 ft lbs of torque to the wheels, plus it lets u customize ur car a little bit (sport button, dsc.) l found it on Bavauto.com which is the best site to find stuff for ur BMW, l recommend it to everyone looking to customize their BMW. If l had not bought the Shark, l would have definately got the Dinan Chip. Dinan is one of the most widely renowed aftermarket companies in the world, & their products will NEVER void a BMW warranty, even the superchargers, that says a lot about their relationship with BMW. Check out those chips, & look at Bavauto.com for ideas as to what else u can add! (I'd recommend the underdrive pulleys, l got 11 RWHP!!!)

Dinan - it does not void the warranty ( your is probably ended by now). It can be install and tuned at a BMW dealer - that my friend say a lot about the BMW and Dinan relationship. You can even order the car new with Dinan factory installed. l personally would not trust anything else, especially if you're planning to keep the car any longer and drive-able.
